To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:
WHEREAS support workers have risked their safety and well being to care for our loved ones during the most uncertain periods of the pandemic.
WHEREAS support workers are often underpaid and consistently overworked.
WHEREAS we recognize the important role they play in maintaining public health standards Whereas, Ontario must properly recognize the essential work they do as health care heroes
We, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly as follows: raise the minimum wage for support workers and establish a permanent training program designed to recruit and retain support workers and create apprenticeship program that ensures support workers are paid while learning on the job.
