To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:
WHEREAS understaffing is negatively impacting the quality of our public health-care system, causing longer wait times, unreliable access to care and unmanageable workloads;
WHEREAS understaffing causes burnout for nurses which is driving them out of the profession;
WHEREAS nurse staffing ratios will help restore our public health care and ensure quality care, and
WHEREAS nurse vacancies and burnout decreased in other jurisdictions following the implementation of ratios, and nurse retention improved.
THEREFORE we, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to pass Bill 19, Patient-to-Nurse Ratios for Hospitals Act, 2025 and support Ontario’s public health care system.
