Government of Ontario

Issues

I welcome your ideas, concerns and questions about issues facing our community.

Please find below resources and information on some of the current provincial issues I am working on:

I am proud to be working with opposition members to build a plan to make Ontario net-zero, and carbon neutral. If we do it right, we’ll create millions of jobs and billions of dollars in economic activity. And we’re not going to let anyone tell us this can’t be done, or we can’t afford it. Because we can’t afford not to. The next generation can’t afford for us to give up hope.

We aren’t just fighting back, we’re planning ahead.

Together, we’re committed to:

  • Make Ontario net-zero by 2050, starting by cutting emissions at least 50 per cent by 2030
  • Create more than a million new jobs
  • Add billions of dollars to Ontario's economy
  • Embark on the largest building retrofit program in the world
  • Provide homeowners with rebates and interest free loans for renovations to move towards net-zero emissions homes
  • Deliver a job-training guarantee

The Ontario government delivered devastating changes to the Ontario Autism Program that hurt children and families across the province.

Opposition MPPs have met with families, educators, clinicians, experts and people living with autism to discuss the impact of these changes on their lives. We want to share what we have heard from the many Ontarians who have shared their stories with us.

Below are the top seven themes we heard over many months of consulting with families, experts, advocates, clinicians and people living with autism.

  • Services should be provided based on need
  • The financial burden is overwhelming
  • Provide a range of evidence-based services
  • More support in schools
  • Build service capacity
  • Help navigating the system
  • Regulation for ABA providers
